Professional Background

An associate professor in the Department of Hearing and Speech, Mindy Sittner Bridges, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, joined the faculty of the University of Kansas in 2017. She teaches courses related to reading development and disorders as well as evidence-based practice.

Bridges received her bachelor's degrees in speech-language pathology and audiology and linguistics from the University of Iowa and her master's degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She spent the next seven years working as a speech-language pathologist in a variety of settings, with a particular emphasis on pediatric language and reading development and disorders.

Bridges completed her doctorate at the University of Kansas in 2009. Prior to joining the faculty at KU Medical Center, Bridges held a research position affiliated with the Life Span Institute at the University of Kansas in Lawrence.
