The Montessori Unit of SBVHS, Phalebas, Parbat was handed over with the two sets of Soya- milk extractors (The Mechanical Cow) with the objective of enhancing the quality of nutrition among the students of SBVHS by Rotary Club of Whitby, Canada via Rotary Club of New Road City Kathmandu, with the humble presence of Mr. Mukti Suvedi, Country Director of World Renew Nepal and the team of Rotary Club of New Road City Kathmandu led by Ms. Ramila Shrestha Shakya.

The QEdLab team comprising Bhola Sharma, Raju Sharma, Suhrid Chapagain, Ishwar Thapa, Ram Chandra Puri (teacher of SBVHS) and Ramesh Shrestha met the authorities of the MIND Nepal based in Chandole, Kathmandu tp explore the possibilities of initiating the accreditation efforts among the Public schools of Nepal. Mr. Anil Pradhan and Mr. Sujan Aryal of MIND Nepal wholeheartedly elaborated the pros and cons of accreditation process to be launched in Nepal in the near future.

The QEdLab team visited the office of the Asia Foundation Nepal based at Baluwatar, Kathmandu and met Ms. Samira Shrestha, Administration and BFA Officer to pave the way of enhancing quality in education in Public Schools in Parbat districts. The Asia Foundation Nepal donated four bundles of various reading materials and resources to Moti Community Library at Phalebas, Parbat.

The QEdLab team comprising Bhola Sharma, Raju Sharma and Ramesh Shrestha visited Janauddhar High School, Budhanilkantha- 13, Gamcha- Kathmandu in order to observe best teaching methods at public schools in Nepal to enhance quality in mass education. The team was introduced to special methodologies developed by the Teach for Nepal (TFN) fellow- Mr. Rajan Maharjan and his associate Ms. Namrata Neupane presently initiating Collaborative School Network (CSN) in various public schools around Kathmandu Valley. The QEdLab team discussed with the CSN team for the potential tie up for enhancing quality in education at SBVHS, Phalebas, Parbat involving the CSN efforts and initiatives.

The QEdLab team invited Dr. Pramod Dhakal, an educationist in the field of Open Education in Nepal to the premises of QEdLab central office, Putalisadak and discussed about the potential cooperation on the expertize level in order to meet the goals of QEdLab regarding the enhancement of quality in mass education at Public Schools in Nepal.

The QEdLab team met Dr. Chintamani Yogi, a value based education activist and a spiritual Guru, at his residence at Koteshwore, Kathmandu and discussed the potential cooperation the QEdLab is seeking for the enhancement of quality in education at Public Schools in Nepal.

On the next day, on September 16th, the QEdLab team observed the educational efforts of Naimisharanya Gurukul Sanskrit School located in Panauti Municipality, Gosaisthan.

September 15th, 2017, Koteshwore, Kathmandu

 

The QEdLab team led by Bhola Sharma was involved in the master plan layout design of the topographical map of the land resources of SBVHS, Phalebas, Parbat with the technical support of RCC Consult, Dhapasi Chowk, Kathmandu owned by Mr. Raja Ram Regmi, based on the field survey conducted by the survey team of RCC Consult. Mr. Regmi, recognized alumni of SBVHS, Phalebas, Parbat rendered outstanding services at a very nominal cost. The master plan layout design was approved by a committee comprising- Dr. Pitambar Sharma, Mr. Bikash Lamsal (Member of Parliament, Parbat), Er. Narayan Bhusal, Mr. Nil Kantha Sharma, Mr. Karun Lamsal, Er. Raja Ram Regmi and Mr. Bhola Sharma. Special effort on the layout design work was rendered by Er. Upakar Singh, RCC Consult.  

September 17th, 2017, Dhapasi Chowk, Kathmandu

 

The QEdLab team observed best teaching methodology and practices devised by a team of Teach for Nepal (TFN) fellows and presently initiating Collaborative School Network (CSN) at Shree Bhanodaya Primary School (SBPS) at Chapagaon, Lubhu, Lalitpur headed by catalyst Mr. Sagendra Shrestha and Ms. Eva Manandhar both TFN Fellows. The SBPS team comprising of the Principal Mr. Bahadur Maharjan shared about working together with CSN regarding the enhancing of quality in education in public schools in Nepal.

The QEdLab team was invited by Assistant Professor Dr. Dhanapati Subedi to the workshop organized by Kathmandu University, School of Education (KUSOED) for the purpose of the defense involving presentation of action research carried out by 25 extremely talented teaching professionals towards final completion of Post Graduate Degree in Education (PGDE).

The QEdLab team met Dr. Tirtha Thapa, an education activist and philanthropist (Founder and former CEO of Human Development & Community Services) and discussed on the potentials of working together for enhancing quality in education for the betterment of mass education in public schools in Nepal.

The QEdLab team was invited to Dashain and Tihar Festive Ceremony organized by Mother Castle School at Pasikot, Budhanilkantha. Proudly speaking Ms. Bhawana Subedi, the principal of Mother Castle School and the whole school family have been playing a pivotal role in fostering the QEdLab initiative for the enhancement of quality in education in public schools in Nepal. The ceremony gave us an opportunity with meeting the dignitaries in Nepali education such as Dr. Jaya Raj Acharya, Ms. Usha Acharya, Mr. Keshar Khulal, the principal of Budhanilkantha School, and so on. The performances of the Mother Castle School students at the program were spectacular.

The QEdLab team invited Mr. Narayan Sigdel, the principal of Janajyoti Higher Secondary School, Baddi Chaur, Surkhet for providing us with his valuable insights on how to run sustainable income generating projects for the long run impacts on public education, involving the technical and vocational approach in educational endeavors.

 

Along with Mr. Sigdel, the QEdLab team comprising Bhola Sharma, Raju Sharma and Ramesh Shrestha visited the headquarters of Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT), Sanothimi, Bhaktapur with the objective of getting familiarized with the basic tenets of CTEVT.
